Budgeting for the Trip

A realistic budget for a 3-day core itinerary (excluding flights to Seattle) runs roughly $500–900 per person, covering a rental car, mid-range accommodation (motels and inns rather than luxury stays), meals, and the Bainbridge ferry crossing. Extending to the full 5-day Oregon-inclusive route adds approximately $200–350 more per person depending on lodging choices in St. Helens and Portland.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is 3 days enough for a Twilight road trip?

Three days covers the essential experience — Port Angeles, Forks, and La Push — at a comfortable pace. For St. Helens (the actual filming location) and Portland (Cullen House neighbourhood, Silver Falls), allow 5 days.

Can I do this road trip from Seattle without a car?

No — the Olympic Peninsula has no public transport connecting these locations. A rental car from Seattle is essential. Budget $50–90 per day plus fuel. The Bainbridge ferry crossing can be done as a walk-on passenger, with the car rented from a provider on the Bainbridge side.

What is the Forever Twilight in Forks festival?

An annual fan festival in Forks every September — guided tours, cast appearances, themed events, and atmospheric night walks. If you can align your trip with the festival dates, do it. Book accommodation 4+ months ahead.
